26 crosses are lined up outside of the church that lost so many loved ones. Plans are being made to tear the church down and a memorial in honor of those who were victims of the shooting.
Officer Julissa Guzman Diaz has been charged with evidence tampering and relieved of duty earlier today, HPD says.
Diaz was arrested but has been released on a $2,500 bond. Her next court appearance is set for November 13, 2017. Diaz was sworn in as an officer in January 2006 and was assigned to the Clear Lake Patrol Division. She also served as a mentor at Teen and Police Service Academy Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo released this statement: Ms. Diaz's betrayal of the public trust and oath of office is inconsistent with the dedication of the men and women of the Houston Police Department (HPD) and their tireless, honorable service. While we cannot overstate our depth of disappointment, we take solace in the fact the investigation that led to Ms. Diaz's arrest was conducted by men and women of the HPD, the same organization and co-workers she betrayed. We look forward to working with the Harris County District Attorney's office to ensure she is held to the highest level of accountability under the law. Ms. Diaz's peace officer powers have been suspended and she has been placed on administrative leave pending the completion of an internal affairs investigation. I urge anyone with information regarding her criminal misconduct or misconduct by any member of the Houston Police Department to contact us. Clearly a pro-slave anthem, yet it still stands as the anthem of "The Leader of the Free world".
Written in 1814, by poet Francis Scott Key, calling it the “Defense of Fort M’Henry.” During the War of 1812. Printed in local newspapers, it caught on quickly. In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson signed an executive order naming “The Star-Spangled Banner” as the national anthem, and it was confirmed by the US Congress in 1931. (So Stop acting like it's always been our anthem) How can it be disrespectful not to stand for a song stating such evil? Some say "You are standing for the flag" , Well the flag remains while people sit after the song is finished. You should probably stay standing during the whole game. (scratches head) It may never happen, but I say change it, In Fact Let me write it! By IamPastorChris Four verses, origanally written 200 years ago by Key: O say can you see, by the dawn’s early light, What so proudly we hail’d at the twilight’s last gleaming, Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight O’er the ramparts we watch’d were so gallantly streaming? And the rocket’s red glare, the bombs bursting in air, Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there, O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave? On the shore dimly seen through the mists of the deep Where the foe’s haughty host in dread silence reposes, What is that which the breeze, o’er the towering steep, As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses? Now it catches the gleam of the morning’s first beam, In full glory reflected now shines in the stream, ’Tis the star-spangled banner—O long may it wave O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave! And where is that band who so vauntingly swore, That the havoc of war and the battle’s confusion A home and a Country should leave us no more? Their blood has wash’d out their foul footstep’s pollution. No refuge could save the hireling and slave From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave, And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave. O thus be it ever when freemen shall stand Between their lov’d home and the war’s desolation! Blest with vict’ry and peace may the heav’n rescued land Praise the power that hath made and preserv’d us a nation! Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just, And this be our motto – “In God is our trust,” And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave. Or what fellowship has light with darkness?
2 Corinthians 6:14 makes it clear that when people come together in partnership, they should not be unequally yoked. This is not to say that believers cannot socialize or work with unbelievers, this is referring to partnerships; the forming of two or more in a contractual agreement to advance or solidify their mutual interest together for long time goals. This could be legal business partners, engaged couples, and especially, married couples. Why is this so important, especially in marriages? Well think of it this way, In parts of some countries, farmers still use oxen to plow their crops. Two oxen are paired together with a yoke, or a wooden bar, in order to work together equally and carry the loads in unity. However, if one oxen is shorter than the other or if one is stronger than the other, then one will carry the load more than the other and their work will be in opposition with one another. This will delay the end result or become incomplete because of the inadequately of the two. So, when two people marry, they have to be equally yoked in order to reach the oneness that God intended couples to reach. If one has a complete opposite philosophical view over the other, then it will cause conflict, resistance, hostility, and unbearable disagreements. Kelley, who was court martialed from the U.S. Air Force, was identified as the gunman who walked into the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas, on Sunday morning and murdered at least 25 people, wounding many more.
The shooter’s name was reported through sources by The New York Times and CBS News; the latter gave his name as Devin Patrick Kelley, 26, and said the Air Force court martial occurred only three years ago. Although the motive was not yet clear, the gunman’s background included religious school work, but he’d also liked pages devoted to atheism. The shooter, who is dead, left behind disturbing social media posts, including a Facebook page that showed off a rifle, calling it a “bad b*t*h.” At least 20 people were killed and 30 injured in a Texas church shooting Sunday morning, law enforcement sources told ABC News.
The alleged shooter is dead, and it appears there is no longer an active threat at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, about 40 miles southeast of San Antonio, police told ABC News. aA person who said she works at a gas station across the street from the church told ABC News she heard rapid gunfire at around 11:15 a.m., leading congregants from the church as well as customers at the station to run inside for cover.“We heard several shots and we all started running inside the store,” she said. “It lasted about 15 seconds. I yelled, ‘Get down! Get inside!’ and we all went into hiding,” said the woman, who said she is 49 but declined to give her name. She said the gas station locked its doors. "We have not reopened,” she said. She then that within minutes of the gunfire, emergency personnel had arrived at the scene. “There were officers that were checking the wounded in here were asking them questions,” she said. The FBI and ATF were headedto the scene, and at least six people from the church were taken to Connally Memorial Center in nearby Floresville for treatment. By Sunday afternoon, police had formed a perimeter around the white clapboard church and flooded its grounds with emergency and police vehicles, according to KSAT. Multiple people shot inside Texas church 01:43(CNN)The FBI is responding to the scene of a reported shooting in Sutherland Springs, Texas, according to Michelle Lee, spokeswoman for the FBI's San Antonio field office.
