ARTICLE III – STATEMENT OF FAITH
The Church foundational Scripture is 1 Corinthians 13:13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
God We believe in one God who eternally exists in three persons( The Holy Trinity): the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God is three in one. God is almighty, holy, all knowing, faithful, wise, ever-present, and unchanging. Genesis 1:26; Psalms 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Psalm 11:4-6.
Jesus Christ God manifest in the flesh. We believe He is the actual spoken Word of God; Therefore Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a sinless human life and offered himself to reconcile man back to God by dyeing on a cross and shedding His innocent blood as a Lamb with out spot or blemish. He alone was resurrected and demonstrated his power by defeating sin and death. Matthew 1:22-23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:5; John 3:16; Jude 24-25.
Holy Spirit The Holy Spirit confirms our relationship with Jesus Christ. He guides believers in doing what is right and exalts Christ. He grants us authority and power of the gifts given to us. He provides understanding and spiritual truth. 2 Corinthians 3:17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12; Matthew3:16.
Bible We believe in the Holy Bible as the inspired Word of God, and is the basis for our beliefs. The Bible is God’s Word to all people. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Proverbs 30:5; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Hebrews 4:12.
God’s People God created mankind in His image and as the masterpiece of His creation. God’s people were intended to have a relationship with God but became separated from Him through sinful disobedience. As a result, man cannot attain a right relationship with God through his own effort, therefore by us accepting Jesus Christ as our personal savior we are reconciled back to God. Psalm 139:14; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Hebrews 11:6; Jeremiah 29:11
Salvation The blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the only way of salvation through the forgiveness of sin. Salvation occurs when people place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sins. Salvation is a gift from God, and it cannot be earned through our own efforts. Hebrews 9:13-28; Hebrews 10:1-18; John 1:29;
